We are looking for a Sales Engineer to assist with the entire sales process of complex food processing systems and related services. The candidate’s responsibilities include the preparation of budgets, analysis of machine costs, detailed quotations and layout solutions according to specific client needs and requirements. The candidate will be given the opportunity to develop extensive knowledge of the system’s parts, functions and related food processes involved. As a successful applicant, you are a mechanical engineer with affinity for food technology and who understands the way our equipment is designed and is able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. You should be driven to serve customers and prepare specific proposals in a timely manner.

Main Responsibilities

• Support sales managers and agents
• Cooperating with the sales team, agents and strategic partners, to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
• Preparing and developing presentations to explain our company’s products or services to customers
• Understanding and translating customer needs and system requirements with customers and the team
• Preparing detailed quotations according to the client’s specifications and RFQs
• Preparing process calculations when necessary
• Being able to prepare (basic) layout proposals in AutoCad
• Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data gathered
• Identifying areas for product improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management and engineering
• Evaluating after-calculations and updating price lists/calculation sheets
• Performing smooth information transfers of concluded contracts to the project team

Requirements

• A degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
• Experience in technical sales
• Understanding of food processes such as blanching, cooking and frying
• Ability to translate technical information to non-technical customers
• Computer literacy, including practical working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to read PIDs and flowcharts is a plus
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor is a plus
• Speak English, other languages are a plus
• Flexibility to travel to customer’s sites or exhibitions
